■ Department of Architecture and Interior Design  |
| The department focuses on nurturing people in the field of
architecture who can contribute to the development of the architectural
culture of the human race by creating the residential environment
of the future, based on historical and cultural traditions.
Towards this purpose, the department offers a curriculum focused
on fostering adeeper understanding of human beings, developing
knowledge of arts, learning the knowledge of engineering and
application while it educates its students based on those foundations.
After completing the basicsubjects of architecture, students
can select the most appropriate field for themselves from among
architectural planning, interior design, structural design,
architectural construction and equipment environment while continuing
to develop their abilities. |

■ Department of Game Contents  |
| The digital contents industry is one of the most promising
industries of the 21st century and has internet, computer games,
multi-media broadcasting and mobile equipment as its basis.
The Department of Game Contents educates its students with the
most current contents producing techniques such as computer
games, wire/wireless internet, computer graphics, mobile contents
and digital sound, web- making techniques and other general
techniques to develop application programming systematically
and focuses on the growing core human resources in the fields
of games and contents. |

■ Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering  |
| This department was established in 1997 and aims to educate
young professionals with creative minds and ability formed from
practical field experience that the country and the local society
requires. One advantage this department has is the fortunate
locale which places it within a short distance from the Hyundai
Motor's Manufacturing Plant in Jeonju, the GM-Daewoo Motor's
Plant in Gunsan and the Mando Mechanics Plant in Iksan. The
experienced faculty members provide students with an education
that combines theories, practice and applicability. The department
is equipped with various tools and machinery which allows students
to have hands on training. Our graduates are now working in
automotive companies, machinery-related enterprises, research
institutes and as teachers and public officials. |

■ Department of Food and Biotechnology  |
| Biotechnology is categorized as a core growing technology
to lead future society with Information Technology (IT), Nano
Technology (NT) and Culture Technology (CT). Biotechnology in
the 21st century is rapidly developing and its range is very
broad. The Department of Food and Biotechnology operates a distinguished
educational program by investigating various functions of life
and systematically establishing theories and techniques regarding
product manufacturing and its process, which are used in the
food and medical supplies industries through utilizing the functions
of life. The department gives an intense education in the functional
food and medical field and aims to nurture people of ability
for bio-industry to produce useful materials, practice bio-energy
technology and learn and apply the most current genetic technology.
Also, the department supports employment opportunities and assists
entering into advanced study programs by providing experiment
associates for each professor's office, and customized educational-industrial
cooperation. |

■ Department of Electricity and Electronics Engineering  |
| Electrical Engineering is the basis of industrial technology
in related fields such as information technology, home appliances
and manufacturing businesses. It is also the basis of 6 industries
out of 10, a growing force for the next generation and affects
everything from culture and arts to cutting edge industries.
The Department of Electricity and Electronics Engineering makes
efforts to produce customized human resources through the learning
of specialized skills by actually practicing the theories learned

highways, express rails, bridges, dams, artificial islands and
water supply and drainage facilities. The construction industry
emphasizes sustainable development that can ensure preserving
the environment and its technologies are becoming more various,
more specialized and more complex. The Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering tries to produce advanced, environment-friendly

■ Department of Chemistry  |
| Chemistry is a field of research to study the structure and
characteristics of molecules, which are the basic element comprising
matter. Chemistry is one of the most important studies of natural
science in the 21st century. In addition, chemistry is a practical
study which is the backbone of the areas of new medicines, new
materials, semiconductors, fuel battery and energy, new medical
technology and environment prevention technology by developing
various new technologies that make human life rich in modern
civilized society. Considering the importance of this field,
the Department of Chemistry at Woosuk University educates and
trains excellent chemists and chemistry related professionals
to lead the chemistry and chemistry related industries in the
