■ Department of Education  |
| The department was established in 1981 with the purpose of
producing specialized educators who can work in middle schools
and high schools, study of pedagogy and participate in other
fields of education. The department offers courses such as Education
Philosophy, History of Education, Educational Psychology, Educational
Sociology, Educational Administration, Educational Curriculum
andEducation Policy in order to teach the techniques necessary
to become teachers in the future with theability to work in
the education field, and specialized fields related to education,
through a scientific understanding and philosophical recognition
of people. |

■ The Department of Special Education  |
| The purpose of this department is to produce teachers, administrators
and researchers in the field of Special Education for the betterment
of the lives of people with sight disorders, hearing disability,
physical disabilities, mental disorders, emotional disorders
or a combination thereof. We offer lectures such as Introduction
to Special Education, The Education of Special-needs Children,
Psychology, Physiology, Language Treatment, Sign Language Instruction,
Physical Therapy, Braille and Rehabilitation. The purpose of
this department is to train the future leaders in the field
of Special Education under the guidelines of specialization,
scincerity and love of service. |

■ Department of Early Childhood Special Education  |
| The department exists to train teachers of early childhood
special education who can support not just infants and children
but their families with systematic and specialized education
services so they can have the knowledge and skills they need
to live in society as independent individuals. It also hopes
to teach students how to develop the potential of infants and
children who have handicaps or the possibility of handicaps.
In order to nurture good teachers of childhood special education,
the department performs various tasks for students to learn
knowledge and have practical experience in the fields of childhood
education, special education and, of course, childhood special
education. To this end, the department offers opportunities
to study theoretical knowledge further through lectures and
cooperative classes by inviting specialists of childhood special
education. In addition, the department trains its students to
learn practical knowledge through academic activities, exhibition
of textbooks and teaching aids, doll play performances and voluntary
services on a regular basis to produce teachers of childhood
special education who are highly qualified. |

■ Department of Mathematics Education  |
| The department was established in 1980 with the purpose of
producing teachers and education specialists who will be in
charge of mathematics education in middle schools and high schools
in the 21st century. The department aims to teach theories and
instruction methods of mathematics education to teach pure mathematics
theories effectively in order to study and teach a wide variety
of mathematical systems. Furthermore, learning new mathematics
instruction methods and the capacity to develope study materials
to lead open education and multimedia education is another aim
of the department. For the purposes stated above, the department
offers courses such as Analytics, Algebra and Geometry, which
are pure mathematical theories and specialized courses like
Course Education Theory such as Mathematical Education Theory,
Material Study and Instruction Method, Mathematical Education
Evaluation, Study of Mathematics Materials and Computer and
Mathematics Education. This leads tp producing pre-teachers
with strong ability. Students of the department can gain experience
in various ways by joining communities while they earn mandatory
knowledge and the ability to be teachers through academic festivals,
athletic meetings, special lectures with invited speakers, and
academic activities by divisions. |

■ Department of Computer Education  |
| The department was established with the purpose of producing
computer teachers for middle schools and high schools. When
students complete defined courses, they will achieve the 2nd
level teacher's license and be qualified to work as teachers
of computer subjects. The Department of Computer Education is
the only one established in the Jeonbuk area and it is possible
for students to have multiple degrees with its systematic curriculum.
Therefore, about 90% of our graduates have achieved the 2nd
level teacher's license for Computer Education and other teacher's
license in Mathematical Education and Special Education. In
addition, students will be able to work in other computer related
fields, not just work as teachers, which means that they are
able to make a wider variety of career choices. |

■ Department of Sociology Education and History  |
| The department aims to produce skilled people who can contribute
to history education and the study of history in Korea and the
improvement of the quality of history education through the
correct understanding and knowledge of education regarding Korean
and world history. This department offers curriculum to produce
teachers of history who possess a balanced view of history that
fits into the changing society by recognizing the necessity
of historical knowledge about the formation of Korea and the
world today. In addition, the department prepares education
programs for students to have the ability to work in various
professional fields with their knowledge of historical events
and nurtures core human resources and excellent history teachers
that the country and the society require. |

■ Department of English Education  |
| This department produces creative and skilled teachers of
middle schools and high schools and education specialists with
humanity and strong qualifications required of English education
professionals. To this end, the department helps students improve
the fluency of their English communication skills and teaches
creative and effective abilities of English instruction through
substantial curriculum in the fields of English function, linguistics,
English education and English and American literature. After
completing their college courses, students will be able to work
as teachers of middle schools and high schools or as professors,
public officials or in foreign companies, specialized organization
of English education, English education businesses, airline
companies, travel agencies, etc. |
