■ Department of Oriental Medicine  |
| Since it was first established in 1987, The Department of
Oriental Medicine has produced doctors with its first set out
of graduates in 1994 who developed their skills in a family-like
environment. In 1991, the Jeonju Hospital of Oriental Medicine
was opened and the Woosuk University College of Oriental Medicine
established the Gimjae Woosuk Oriental Medicine Hospital on
August 1, 1998. In addition, the Life Science Research Institute,
Dongsuh Cancer Research Center and the Oriental Medicine Rehabilitation
Center were founded. The department was selected for "Newrodian
2000", a core business of BK 21 which ensured a firm ground
to move ahead in the field of oriental medicine research. There
are the Department of Pre-Oriental Medicine and the Department
of Oriental Medicine in the College of Oriental Medicine. The
Department of Pre-Oriental Medicine is a two-year program to
study basic knowledge and basic theories of oriental medicine
and basic theories of western medicine such as anatomy and physiology.
After completing the pre-courses, students will have various
experiences through more detailed theories of oriental medicine
and 4 years of clinical training in the Department of Oriental
Medicine. After completing the six-year course, students will
take their first steps as doctors of oriental medicine after
passing the national exam. |

■ Department of Nursing  |
| The Department of Nursing has a goal to train nurses with
a high degree of knowledge and medical techniques to maintain
and increase the health care industry, to aid in disease prevention
and to help in recovery and rehabilitation. We offer education
and training in three fields; Health Improvement, Disease Nursing
and Professional Occupation Development. Our department boasts
laboratories filled with the latest equipment. We also have
our own Nursing Reference Room, Nursing Library, lounge, PBL
Room, seminar room and counselling office. The curriculum we
offier is a systematic learning experience combining both theory
and field practice. Students graduating from our department
have an exceptionally high pass rate on the National Nursing
Exam and have demonstrated good results on exams for Hygiene
Teachers and Civil Servants and the fact that our graduates
have a 100% employment rate shows that we have secured a position
of respect and our vision has become reality. |
