When using medical institution and pharmacies in Korea, you will have to pay the whole amount unless you possess medical insurance. You can join the 'National Health Insurance' that the Ministry of Health and Welfare manages and supervises as a local member and will have benefits the same as Korean citizens.
■ Benefits of Joining
30%. 20~50% of patient's allotment at medical institutes and 30% at a pharmacy.
■ Due amount
A fee covering 3 months should be paid prior to the beginning of the term of coverage. In order to join, expenses from the date of foreigner's registration should be paid. The amount is equal as a domestic member's expense and is approximately \30,000 per month.
■ Required documents : passport and foreigner's registration certificate
■ Method of Joining : You may visit the closest office of National Health Insurance with the required documents.
