Article 3. Matters Concerning the Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

① WOOSUK University processes personal information of data subjects within the scope specified for the purpose of collection and use, and does not exceed the original purpose or provide it to third parties without prior consent from the data subject, except in the following cases. However, items 5 to 9 are limited to public institutions.

  • When separate consent is obtained from the data subject
  • When there are special provisions in other laws
  • When the data subject or their legal representative is in a state where they cannot express their intention or cannot obtain prior consent due to being untraceable, etc., and it is clearly recognized as necessary for the urgent life, body, or property interests of the data subject or a third party
  • When it is necessary for purposes such as statistical preparation and academic research, and personal information is provided in a form that cannot identify specific individuals
  • When it is necessary to perform duties prescribed by other laws that cannot be carried out without using personal information for purposes other than those intended or providing it to third parties, after deliberation and resolution by the Protection Committee
  • When it is necessary to provide to foreign governments or international organizations for the implementation of treaties or other international agreements

Article 5. Rights and Obligations of the Data Subject and Legal Representative and How to Exercise Them

① The data subject (referring to the legal representative if under 14 years of age) may exercise the following rights related to personal information protection at any time.

  • Request for access to personal information
  • Request for correction in case of errors
  • Request for deletion
  • Request for suspension of processing
    However, in the following cases, access may be restricted in accordance with Article 35 of the [Personal Information Protection Act]
    • When access is prohibited or restricted by law
    • When there is a concern that it may harm the life or body of another person or unfairly infringe upon the property and other interests of another person
    • When it causes significant disruption to the performance of any of the following tasks by public institutions
    • Tasks related to the imposition, collection, or refund of taxes
    • Tasks related to academic evaluation or admission selection at schools under the "Elementary and Secondary Education Act" and "Higher Education Act," lifelong education facilities under the "Lifelong Education Act," and other higher education institutions established under other laws
    • Tasks related to examinations regarding academic qualifications, skills, and employment, and qualification assessments
    • Tasks related to ongoing evaluations or judgments regarding the calculation of compensation or benefits
    • Tasks related to audits and investigations ongoing under other laws

② The exercise of rights under paragraph 1 can be made in writing, by email, or by fax after filling out the form in Annex 8 of the Enforcement Rules of the Personal Information Protection Act, and we will take action without delay.

③ If the data subject requests correction or deletion of personal information due to errors, the relevant personal information will not be used or provided until the correction or deletion is completed.

④ The exercise of rights under paragraph 1 can be done through the legal representative of the data subject or a person delegated by them. In this case, a power of attorney in accordance with Annex 11 of the Enforcement Rules of the Personal Information Protection Act must be submitted.

⑤ Requests for access to personal information and suspension of processing may be limited under Article 35, paragraph 5, and Article 37, paragraph 2 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

⑥ Requests for correction and deletion of personal information cannot be made if the personal information is specified as a subject of collection in other laws.

⑦ When requesting access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing rights, it is verified whether the requester is the data subject or a legitimate representative.

  • The information processor may request the submission of evidence necessary to confirm the request from the data subject
  • Verification of identity through identification documents such as resident registration card, driver's license, passport, or by confirming a certified certificate
  • If requested through a representative, the power of attorney from the data subject and a copy of the seal certificate or identification documents such as resident registration card, driver's license, or passport must be submitted to confirm that the representative is a legitimate representative authorized by the data subject

Article 7. Procedures and Methods for Destruction of Personal Information

① WOOSUK University will, in principle, destroy personal information without delay once the purpose of processing the personal information has been achieved.     Unnecessary personal information and personal information files are processed under the responsibility of the personal information officer according to internal policy procedures as follows.
    • Destruction of Personal Information
      Personal information that has exceeded the retention period will be destroyed without delay from the end date.
    • Destruction of Personal Information Files
      When the purpose of processing the personal information file has been achieved, the service has been discontinued, or the business has ended, and the personal information file is deemed unnecessary, it will be destroyed without delay from the date it is recognized as unnecessary for processing.

Article 8. Installation, Operation, and Refusal of Personal Information Automatic Collection Devices

① Our website uses 'cookies' to store and retrieve usage information in order to provide personalized services to users.

② A cookie is a small amount of information sent by the server (http) that operates the website to the user's computer browser, and it may be stored on the hard disk of the user's PC.

  • Purpose of using cookies: It is used to provide optimized information to users by allowing them to set frequently visited services.

Article 9. Measures to Ensure the Safety of Personal Information

① We are taking the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information.

  • Minimization and Training of Personnel Handling Personal Information
    Only the necessary personnel are designated and managed to handle personal information, and training is provided to the handling staff for safe management.
  • Access Restrictions to Personal Information
    We take necessary measures for access control to personal information by granting, changing, and deleting access rights to the personal information processing system. We also use an intrusion prevention system to control unauthorized access from outside.
  • Retention of Access Records
    Records of access to the personal information processing system are retained and managed for at least 6 months.
  • Encryption of Personal Information
    Personal information is securely stored and managed through encryption and other means. Additionally, important data is encrypted during storage and transmission, using separate security features.
  • Installation of Security Programs and Periodic Checks and Updates
    In order to prevent leakage and damage of personal information due to hacking or computer viruses, we install security programs and periodically update and check them.
  • Access Control for Unauthorized Persons
    A separate physical storage location for the personal information processing system is established, and access control procedures are established and operated for it.

Article 10. Remedies for Rights Infringement

The data subject may apply for dispute resolution or consultation to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee, the Korea Internet & Security Agency Personal Information Infringement Reporting Center, etc., to remedy damages caused by personal information infringement.

In addition, a person whose rights or interests have been infringed due to a disposition or omission by the head of a public institution in response to the data subject's request for access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of personal information may file an administrative appeal in accordance with the Administrative Appeals Act.

WOOSUK University (hereinafter referred to as "the institution") informs you through the operation and management policy of video information processing devices about how the video information processed by the institution is used and managed.

Basis for Installation and Purpose of Video Information Processing Devices

The institution installs and operates video information processing devices for the following purposes in accordance with Article 25, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

  • Facility safety and fire prevention
  • Crime prevention for the safety of members (faculty, staff, students, etc.) within the university
  • Prevention of vehicle theft and damage
    ※ If the number of parking spaces exceeds 30, installation and operation are possible based on Article 6, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Rules of the Parking Lot Act.

Method and Location for Confirming Personal Video Information

  • Method of Confirmation: You can confirm by contacting the video information management officer or access rights holder in advance and visiting. If you request viewing, you must fill out the personal video information viewing and existence confirmation request form and submit it to the relevant department.
  • Confirmation Location: General Affairs Team, Lee Seung-in (290-1063)

Measures for Requests for Viewing Personal Video Information by Data Subjects

  • If a data subject wishes to view or confirm the existence or destruction of personal video information (hereinafter referred to as "viewing, etc."), they may request it from the operator of the video information processing device at any time.
    However, this is limited to personal video information that is necessary for the urgent life, body, or property interests of the data subject.
  • When a data subject makes a request for viewing, etc., they must submit a personal video information viewing and existence confirmation request according to [Attachment 1] to the head of the promotion agency.
  • The promotion agency will take necessary measures without delay upon receiving a request for viewing, etc., and in this case, the person making the request must submit identification documents such as a resident registration card, driver's license, or passport to verify their identity.
  • Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 3, the request for viewing, etc. of the data subject may be refused in the following cases. In this case, the reason for refusal will be notified to the data subject in writing within 10 days.
    • a. If it causes significant hindrance to criminal investigations, prosecution maintenance, or trial performance
    • b. If the retention period of personal video information has expired and it has been destroyed
    • c. If there are other justifiable reasons to refuse the data subject's request for viewing, etc.
  • The promotion agency will take necessary measures without delay when a request for viewing, existence confirmation, or deletion of personal video information is made.

Measures to Ensure the Safety of Video Information

The video information processed by the institution is managed in accordance with Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act and Article 30, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree to ensure safety so that personal video information is not lost, stolen, leaked, altered, or damaged.
